The eyelids are subject to the first manifestations of
elastose, which can express itself with two types of
alterations: excess of skin (with the formation of wrinkles
or presence of hernias), or adipose bags, that is to say
swellings of the eyelids. . |

Pre-operative evaluation |
|
|
|
Both the excess of cutis and the adipose bags can be
corrected during the same surgical operation, which can be
eventually limited to the superior or the inferior eyelids.
Blepharoplasty operation is done in local anesthesia in day
hospital. |

Operation |
|
|
|
Through an incision in the natural fold of the superior
eyelid are removed the skin in excess and also a thin line
of the orbicular muscle which, without causing functional
damage, allows to correct the palpebral cutaneous ptosis.
Through the same incision are also eliminated the eventual
adipose bags. It’s also possible, in case of necessity, to
raise the eyebrow angle so as to obtain an ulterior
rejuvenation of the look.
The incision of the inferior eyelid is executed under the
ciliary edge, removing the cutis in excess and the eventual
adipose hernias.. |

Post-operative course |
|
|
|
During the first days after the operation there is a
swelling of the eyelids together with ecchymosis more or
less evident. After, a normal make-up will be sufficient to
cover the last ecchymosis in phase of reabsorption. Sutures
are removed after 3-4 days. The scars turning out from the
operation are usually of such a consistency and of such
colors to be invisible. |
