The age, gravity effect, long exposition to the sun and the
stress of daily life carry to characteristic alterations of
the face and of the neck, such as the formation of thinner
or less thin wrinkles or the relaxation of the subcutaneous
tissues, in particular of the cheek. With a lifting
operation we can Face lift surgery has the effect to
rejuvenate the aspect of the face but can’t of course stop
forever the ageing process. But at a distance of years it
will always remain the advantage derived from the operation,
even if time after time the tissues will be newly aged. |

|
Pre-operative evaluation is very important in order to
estimate the consistency of the operation, which can include
all the face and the neck or just some districts such ad the
forehead, the temporal region, the cheek or the neck
separately. Sectorial liftings require just one day of
hospitalization and are carried out in local anaesthesia. |

The cutaneous and muscolar plans are prepared in proximity
of the incision of the temples, of the cheeks and the neck.
Will follow the elimination of the skin in excess and the
anchorage of the muscular plans.
In case of localized adiposity, it could be necessary also a

The scar turning out from the incision cut is in great part
hidden among the hairs, while in the only exposed zone, in
front of the ear, the scar turns out very thin and little
visible. Face Lift operation is perfomed in general
anaesthesia. During the hospitalization of 2-3 days, the
face will be wrapped with elastic bandage. This is the only
annoyance, since true and painful feelings are rare. Sutures
in front of the ear will be removed after 5 days, while the
remaining after 5-6 days.
After 12-15 days from the operation, all the eventually
present bruises will be disappeared. Infrequent
complications are tied to the formation of subcutaneous
haematomas, temporary suffering of the facial motor nerves,
infections. Smoking patients are exposed to greater risks
dued to a diminished vascularization of the cutis.. |
