The profile of the face è given by elements in harmony
between them, we refer above all to the nose, chin and
cheekbones.
When one of those elements is too small or too prominent,
the structural equilibrium is altered. |

Pre-operative evaluation |
|
|
|
The pre-operative evaluation is very important because very
often patients exclusively applies to the surgeon for the
resolution of a nasal deformity, while thanks to the
accurate study of the proportions made by the surgeon, a
better result can be obtained associating a reduction or an
enlargement of the chin, or the enlargement of the
projection of the cheekbone. |

Operation |
|
|
|
In
both types of surgery are used inert and bio-compatible
prosthesis, introduced through little incisions inside the
mouth, in the gingival
fornix or long the ciliar edge of the inferior eyelid.
In case of excessive projection of the chin, this is
corrected removing of one layer of bone in the front part of
the mandible. The reductional operation is perfomed in
general anaesthesia with an hospitalization of about 24/48
hours, while the enlargement of the cheekbones and of the
chin can be made in local anaesthesia in day hospital. |
